EarthRights Burma Alumni

EarthRights Burma alumni are a group of young leaders who belong to different ethnicities from Burma with specific knowledge about topics related to human rights and the environment. While geographically and ethnically diverse, all alumni concentrate their efforts on the promotion of human rights and environmental rights through advocacy, mobilizing and educating people, in order to form a strong and active civil society. Individual alumni and/or their organizations work on such issues as human rights, environment, health, education, community development, youth, and children’s rights.

Despite the oppression of the military government of Burma, the alumni, their organizations and communities remain positive about their future, and believe that the promotion of human rights and environmental rights from grassroots to global levels will someday bring the positive changes they envision: a time when all the people of Burma enjoy peace, justice, equality, and a healthy and sustainable environment.
